CONCLUSION

o   Padobe brick (ie.,M11 proportion)  is suitable for both load bearing and non-load bearing walls. And it can be used in any location. This brick is giving more strength than conventional clay bricks, and the weight of this brick is 1/3^rd lesser than conventional clay brick. Cost of one  padobe brick is just 29 paise only. Due to less weight, dead load will be reduced. And the total cost of construction will also be reduced.

o   The fibrous concrete bricks (M3,M4,M5,M6,&M8 proportions) can be used for non - load bearing partition walls. And these bricks are not suitable for water logging and external walls. It can be used in inner partition walls. Weight of the fibrous concrete bricks are 1/3^rd   to ½ of the conventional clay brick. Cost of the fibrous concrete bricks are more or less equal to the conventional clay brick’s cost. But, due to less weight of these bricks, the total dead load of the building will be reduced. For  residential building dead load occupies the 40 – 45% of total cost of construction and for official building, dead load occupies the 30-35% of total cost. So, using the fibrous concrete brick in a building, total cost will be reduced from  20% to 27%.

o   Since, these bricks are relatively light weight and more flexible, these bricks are potentially an ideal material for earthquake prone areas.

o   These bricks are termite proof, hence the paper was mixed with cement in fibrous concrete and was fully burnt in padobe brick.

o   Fibrous concrete bricks can be easily cut in to desire shape, so the brick wastes will be reduced.

o   Fibrous concrete brick does not expand or contract, so sheets of glass or glass block can be embedded in and trimmed with papercrete.

o   Plumbing and electrical work can be done very easily in these type of brick walls.

o   If wood or metal frames have to be installed, they can be screwed directly in to the papercrete brick walls.

o   Providing stucco to the papercrete brick wall, smouldering of brick will not take place.

o   Since, the papers are the main content in these bricks, it will have more resistant to heat flow. So, these type of brick walls are suitable for the tropical countries like India.

o   Since, the plumbing system is fully insulated, cold water stays cold and hot water stays hot.. So, the energy will be saved more.

o   The papercrete bricks are good sound absorbent, hence paper is used in these bricks. So, these bricks can be used in auditoriums.
o   Since, the waste materials are used, it will reduce the landfills and pollution.
